article genre
(purpose,
type)
|
The
purpose of this article is to help and encourage readers to get a job or
follow a career dream. It will do this by giving helpful tips and facts on
what employers are looking for when taking new people on into their business.
|
|
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person) |
It
will be written in a 1st person narrative voice so that the reader
feels a connection with the writer as though they are having a personal one
on one conversation.
|
|
Register
(informal/formal,
colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
|
It
will be quite laid back although I wont be using any sarcasm or jokey terms.
I also will not be using any taboo language as it is about a serious subject.
I will use semantic field lexis related to work, jobs and looking good.
|
|
Stylistics
(repetition,
strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing,
rhythm)
|
I
will be using a lot of adjectives in order to explain to the reader exactly
what I am trying to get across. This will also make what I am talking about a
lot clearer. I will occasionally use repetition to ensure the reader knows
what points of the article are important and should be taken more notice of.
|
|
Tone of address
(hectoring,
sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
|
The
tone of address will be quite matey as it is giving advice although will not
be jokey or sarcastic. The writer and reader will have quite an equal
footing.
|
|
Structure and pace
(discourse
structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
|
The
pace of this article will be quite fast made up of mainly short sentences
with the occasional medium length and long sentence so it doesn’t feel
rushed. The Paragraphs will also be quite short in order to look more
appealing to read to my target audience.
